K Manoj Kumar and Promod Rana of Cuttack the title in the Sattar Cup Badminton (Men`s doubles) Tournament, which concluded at Sukinda in Jajpur district today. Manoj and Pramod defeated Swadhin Mishra and Saurav Kumar Bhuyan of Angul in the final 21-7, 21-10, 21-6.
Earlier in the semifinals, the Manoj-Pramod duo beat the local favorites Paraj and Pintu by 2-0 games, while the Swadhin-Saurav pair downed Faisal and DR Kar of Jajpur by identical margin. The champion duo received a cash prize of Rs 10,000, while the runners-up pair became richer by Rs 5,000. Promod Rana was adjudged the player of the tournament.
